Notes
How to make Palak Paneer
Step 1: Firstly we need to wash palak (spinach) very well, otherwise there will be a chances of having sands or soil particle into you bite. So wash it under running water.
Step 2: Then roughly chop the palak. Similarly chop the other vegetables like onions and tomato into small pieces. If you are using chilies, cut them also. And off course cut the paneer into small block size.
Step 3: Now take a sauce pan add 3 cup of water into it and boil it. When water starts boiling, add chopped palak into the water and boil it for 5 minutes.
Step 4: After that drain the hot water and add cold or normal water into the same pot to soak the palak. This process will help to retain natural green color of palak.
Step 5: Now take a preheated fry pan, add 1 tbsp. of butter and let it melt. It is time to add cumin seeds into it and wait for crackling of them.
Step 6: At this point add chopped onions, fry them for 4-5 minutes. After that add ginger-garlic paste and roast it for another 2 minutes. Now add chopped tomatoes.
Tips: Add pinch of salt to cook or soft the tomatoes within 1 minutes.
Step 7: Roast them all for 2-3 minutes. It is the time to add all spices ( cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, sugar and salt ) into the pan. Mix and cook it for 1 minutes. And switch off the stove and let it cool down.
Step 8: Our spinach is boiled and roasted spices are ready. So put them all together into to a blender, add 3 cube of paneer into the jar and blend them all together. Our thick palak paneer paste is ready.
Step 9: Take the same fry pan and heat it. Now pour the entire paste into the pan and roast it for 2 minutes. Then we will add 1 cup of water into it.
Step 10: When the gravy will start boiling, add all the paneer pieces into the gravy. Cook it for another 2-3 minutes.
Tips: Be careful at this stage, here the gravy will be splattering badly. So use a lid during the cooking.
Step11: Here we will add garam masala powder and little bit of butter into palak paneer. Stir the gravy and switch off the stove. Add 1/4 of fresh cream and mix it very well.
Step 12: Our creamy and tasty Palak paneer is ready. Serve it with hot roti or whatever you want to eat with it. I hope you will like it.
