Ingredients (for 12 pieces of Atta Cookies):
– Wheat flour – 2/3 cup
– Gram flour – 1 tbsp
– Corn flour – 1 tsp
– Powdered sugar – 3 tbsp
– Ghee – 1/3 cup
– Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
– Baking soda – ¼ tsp
– Milk powder – 1 tbsp
– Pumpkin seeds – 2 tbsp
How to make atta cookie
1. Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ghee and powdered sugar. Mix them together until you have a fluffy and creamy batter.
3. Add the dry ingredients: wheat flour, gram flour, corn flour, cardamom powder, and baking soda. Mix everything thoroughly to form a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more wheat flour. Conversely, if it’s too dry, add a bit more ghee to achieve the right consistency.
4. It’s time to shape the cookies. Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a round or your preferred cookie shape. Press a few pumpkin seeds onto the top of each cookie, gently pressing them into the dough.
5. Place the shaped cookies onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper, making sure to leave some space between them.
6. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes or until they turn a light golden color.
7. Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes on a wire rack. This will allow them to firm up.
8. Once completely cooled, store the Atta Cookies in an airtight glass jar. They should stay fresh for 9-10 days.
