Baked eggless churros are a delightful variation of traditional churros that are typically fried. These churros are a great choice for those who prefer an eggless or vegetarian option and want a slightly healthier alternative to the deep-fried version.

Ingredients

1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml; 1teaspoon – 5ml;

For the Churros:

– 1 cup (110g) Maida (all-purpose flour)

– 1/4 cup (31.2g) Milk Powder

– 40g Mawa (khoya)

– 1 cup (250ml) Water

– 1/8 tsp (0.6g) Baking Soda

– 1/2 tsp (2.4g) Baking Powder

– 1/4 cup (50g) Salted Butter

– 1.5 tbsp (18g) Brown Sugar

– 2 Cardamom Pods (seeds removed and crushed)

For Serving:

– Chocolate Sauce


How to make Baked Eggless Churros

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a saucepan, combine water, brown sugar, crushed cardamom seeds, and milk powder. Heat the mixture over medium heat until the milk powder is completely dissolved.

3. Here add the salted butter into it and heat the mixture comes to a boil.

4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

5. Now add the all-purpose flour (maida), baking soda, baking powder and Mawa into that mixture.

6. mix all the wet and dry ingredients together, stirring continuously to form a smooth, thick dough.

7. Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.

8. Pipe 6-8 cm long churros onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.

9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the churros are golden brown and crisp.

10. While the churros are still warm, roll them in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon if desired.

11. Serve the baked Eggless churros with warm chocolate sauce for dipping. Or you can soak them in sugar syrup as Eggless.
