Chicken cutlet is a popular and versatile dish made from boneless, skinless chicken breasts that are pounded thin, breaded, and then fried until golden and crispy.
INGREDIENTS
1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml ; 1teaspoon – 5ml;
Ingredients for 10 pieces of cutlets:
– 300 grams boneless chicken
– 1/2 teaspoon oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
– 8-9 cloves of garlic
– 1-inch ginger, sliced
– 2 green chillies
– 1/4 teaspoon chicken masala
– A pinch of nutmeg powder
– 1 small boiled potato
– 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
– Salt to taste
To coat the cutlets:
-1 tbsp bread crumbs
To fry the cutlets:
-1/4 cup vegetable oil
How to make chicken cutlet
1. Begin by grinding the boneless chicken to achieve a smooth consistency. It is recommended to use a mixer grinder or a food processor for this step.
2. In the mixer grinder, combine the chicken, garlic cloves, ginger slices, and spices. Grind until the chicken forms a paste-like consistency.
3. Transfer the ground chicken mixture to a mixing bowl. Add the boiled potato (mashed), chicken masala, bread crumbs, and freshly grated nutmeg powder. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
4. Take a portion of the chicken cutlet mixture and shape it into a round patty using your palms. Gently press the patty to ensure it holds its shape. Repeat this process for the remaining cutlets.
5. Spread 1 tablespoon of bread crumbs on a plate. Coat each chicken cutlet with the bread crumbs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
6. Preheat a frying pan or tawa and add oil to it. Once the oil is hot, place the coated cutlets in the pan and fry them on low heat for 8-10 minutes per batch.
7. Once the cutlets are golden brown and cooked through, remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
*you can also bake them in oven
8. Place the chicken cutlets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spray some oil on top of the cutlets to help them brown and prevent sticking.
9. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake the cutlets for 10 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
10. Once the cutlets are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
11. Serve the chicken cutlets with tomato ketchup or green chutney as a delicious snack or appetizer.
