Today morning, when I was preparing to make my lunch, I couldn’t find anything. I felt my head is empty and blank. At this point I have collected prawns and some veggies on my chopping board .

After that I was scratching my mind and I came to my refrigerator. Opened it and saw different kind of spreads, sauces and dressings. At this movement I have started to make a new recipe in my mind.

It had taken around 15 to 20 minutes to grab all the ingredients on my plate. And figured out the measurements of each of them. Finally I made it and it made a smile on my husband’s face.

Although my instant recipe was successful at my family, yet I was wondering its name. The name was not there, when I was writing about the recipe. In this movement I came to my husband and started brainstorming about its names. After debating for 5 minutes, finally we got the name of the dish 😍. And that is Crispy Bell Pepper Prawns.

INGREDIENTS

* 1cup-240ml, * 1tbsp.-15ml, * 1tsp-5ml

For the prawn marination

  • Prawn (peeled medium size) – 15 pieces
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

For the rest of the recipe

  • Yellow bell pepper – 1/4 cup
  • Red bell pepper – 1/4 cup
  • Regular onion – 1/4 cup
  • Green onion – 1/2 cup
  • Green chili – 2 piece
  • Soya sauce – 1 tbsp.
  • Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp.

Notes

1.  I have taken medium size of prawns, but you can go for smaller one. Size doesn’t matter for the recipe, choose whatever available in market. 
 
2. We need full peeled prawns. In India, there is good availability of prawns. Size of prawns starts form 5 cm up to 24 cm. And different kind of prawns are used for different kind of recipes.
 
3. At some places people love to eat prawns with its heads on. It’s totally individual’s choice. I prefer headless prawns. I think we should remove the head when it becomes orange or red in color. It means the prawns started spoiling.
 
4. Personally I love prawns over fish. Prawns has the ability to blend with various type of ingredients. Even I have already tried some dishes like grill prawn pizza. 
 
5. For the veggies try to chop them in small and square shape. It give a powerful impact on the look of the dish. Even if you want, can add green bell pepper and mushrooms also.
 
6. I prefer to marinate prawns before using it into the recipe. And to do so, I have taken little turmeric powder, salt and 10 -15 minutes time . After that fry them for 2-3 minutes.
 
7. Don’t fry the prawns for long time, else prawns become harder and chewy. Try to fry the prawn for less then 5 minutes.
 
8. To maintain the crunchiness of veggies or bell pepper, just sauté them on medium flame for 2 minutes. Don’t over cook the veggies otherwise they loose water and our crispy bell pepper prawns become a juicy gravy.

How to make crispy bell pepper prawns

Step 1: Prawns are vary delicate fish, you have to cook it following the hand of a clock. IF you have all ingredients on your table then it require only 5 minutes to get ready.

Step 2: First of all we have to fry the prawns and before that it require marination. So add a pinch of turmeric and 1/4 tsp of salt and leave it for 10-15 minutes to marinate properly.

Step 3: Meanwhile chop all the required vegetables into small & square shape. Try to wash them before cutting, it helps you to get dry vegetable, which we need here.

Step 4: Now take 1 tbsp. of oil on a preheated frypan and heat the oil. When smoke comes out from oil, add the prawns and fry for 2 minutes. Now take them out on a plate.

Step 5: On the same pan add chopped onions, bell peppers, green chilis and green onions. Fry them for 2 minutes, then add 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste on the pan. Fry for another 1 minute.

Step 6: At this point, add 1 tbsp. of soya sauce, 1/2 tsp of sugar and 1/4 tsp of salt on the veggies and give it a good stir.

Step 7: Finally it’s time to add fried prawns. After adding the prawns, fry it with the all ingredients for another 1 minute. Our Crispy Bell Pepper Prawns is ready to eat.

Step 8: Serve it as a side dish with hot roti or noodles. Even it can be a great starter for start your lunch or dinner.
