Crispy Happy Potato is a delicious and popular snack that combines the goodness of potatoes with a crispy texture. INGREDIENTS

1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml ; 1teaspoon – 5ml;

For the dough:

– 1/2 cup Poha (flattened rice)

– 1 medium-sized Potato, boiled and mashed

– 2 tbsp Maida (all-purpose flour)

– 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes

– 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds

– 1/4 tsp Cumin powder

– 1/4 tsp Chaat masala

– Salt, to taste

– 1/4 tsp Hing (asafoetida)

– Water to make a soft dough

To fry the Happy Potatoes:

– Oil, for deep frying


How to make crispy happy potato

1. Began with grinding the ½ of poha. Use a mixer jar, add the poha and finely grind it.

2. In a mixing bowl, add the grinded poha, Chilli flakes, Cumin seeds, Cumin powder, Chaat masala, Salt, and Hing (asafoetida) to the bowl.

3. Put a strainer on bowl and add the boiled potato on it. Now using a spoon finely mash the boiled potato for the recipe.

4. Mix all the ingredients well to form a dough. If the dough feels too dry, you can add water to bind it together.

5. Once the dough is well combined, divide it into small portions and shape them into round balls. Flatten each ball slightly to give it a nice happy shape.

6. Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai for frying. Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the happy potato.

7. Gently slide a few happy potatoes into the hot oil and fry them on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy.

8. Remove the fried happy potatoes using a slotted spoon or tongs and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

9. Repeat the frying process with the remaining happy potatoes.

10. Crispy Happy Potatoes are ready to be served! You can enjoy them as a snack on their own or serve them with ketchup, chutney, or any dipping sauce of your choice.

Note: Be cautious while handling hot oil, and make sure to fry the potatoes in small batches to ensure even cooking.
