How to make Fasting Farali Pattice

1. In a mixing bowl, combine grated coconut, chopped raisins, chopped cashew nuts, chopped pistachios, chopped ginger, chopped green chili, chopped coriander leaves, sendha namak, and sugar.

2. Mix everything well to create the stuffing mixture. Set aside.

3. In another mixing bowl, take the mashed boiled potatoes. Add arrowroot and a pinch of salt to the mashed potatoes.

4. Knead the mixture to form a smooth dough. This dough will hold the pattice together.

5. Take a small portion of the potato dough and flatten it between your palms to form a small disc. Place a spoonful of the stuffing mixture in the center of the potato disc.

6. Carefully fold the potato disc over the stuffing, sealing the edges to form a patty. Gently flatten the patty to your desired thickness. Repeat this process for the remaining dough and stuffing.

7. To coat the pattice spread some arrowroot on a plate. Coat each prepared patty with a thin layer of arrowroot on both sides. This will give the pattice a crispy texture when fried.

8. Heat sufficient oil in a shallow pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated pattice in the pan.

9. Cook the pattice until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides. This will take about 8-10 minutes per side.

10. Once the pattice are cooked, remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.

Serve the Farali Pattice hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.
