1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml; 1teaspoon – 5ml;

For the “Kadai” Oven:

– Large Thick-bottomed Kadai

– 250 grams Regular Table Salt

For the Cake Batter:

– 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest

– 1/3 cup Sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Juice

– 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil

– 3/4 cup Whole Milk

– 1 cup All-Purpose Flour (Maida)

– 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda

– 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

– A Pinch of Yellow Food Color

– 3 tablespoons Tutti Frutti


How to make Fruit Cake Without Oven

1. Begin by preparing your homemade oven in the kadai. Place a thick-bottomed kadai on the stove and add 250 grams of regular table salt.

2. Set up a stand inside the kadai to elevate your cake pan. Cover the kadai with a lid and heat it for 15 minutes.

3. While the kadai is preheating, zest a medium-sized lemon. Squeeze lemon juice from the same lemon.

4. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar and lemon zest. Rub them together for about a minute using your hands.

5. Add lemon juice, refined oil, and milk to the sugar mixture. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.

6. Now, add all the dry ingredients – all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix them to form a smooth batter.

7. Enhance the cake’s flavor and appearance by adding a pinch of yellow food color and tutti frutti.

8. Grease a cake mold with oil or butter and line the bottom with parchment paper. Pour the cake batter into the prepared mold.

9. Carefully place the cake mold on the stand inside the preheated kadai, cover it with a lid, and bake the cake for approximately 55 minutes over low heat.

10. After 55 minutes, turn off the heat and allow the cake to cool for an additional 15 minutes inside the kadai.

11. Your homemade fruit cake, cooked without an oven and free from artificial essences, is now ready. It’s wonderfully spongy and delicious. Enjoy!
