INGREDIENTS

1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml ; 1teaspoon – 5ml;

To mix the custard powder

  • Custard powder (Vanilla flavor/unflavored) – 1/4 cup (50 gm)
  • Warm milk – 200 ml

For Mango Custard

  • Mango pulp – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Milk – 500

For decorating purpose

  • Cashew – 10 pieces
  • Mango cubes – few
  • Raisin – 10 pieces

Notes

1. For this sweet mango custard, we need ripe and sweet mango. Better the mango better the dessert.
 
2. There are varieties of custard powder are available in market. But we need the plain or normal one to get the original flavor of mango in the custard. 
 
3. If you don’t get the normal flavor of custard powder then use vanilla flavored custard. It has mild smell and flavor of vanilla. So it gets suppressed by the flavor of mango. I have tried it, so you can follow this.
 
4. Don’t use custard powder directly into the boiled milk or very cold milk. Then you will not get the proper texture of custard.
 
5. Always mix the custard powder in lukewarm milk.
 
6. Choose more than 500ml of milk for 50 gm of custard powder. And try to boil the milk for at least 30 minutes on low flame before using it for this recipe. Thicker milk will yield better result.
 
7. If you like dry fruits into your custard then you can add them during the cooking. Before adding, roughly crush them.
 
8. If possible grind the sugar before adding it into the custard mixture. It will help to mix the sugar instantly and custard will not stick on the bottom of pan.

How to make Mango Custard

Step 1: First step to start this recipe is to take out the pulp of a mango. Here we need only 1 cup of mango pulp. If you are going to make more, then just increase your ingredients amount. That’s all😉.

Step 2: You can dice the mango in smaller pieces and then blend for 2 minutes. It makes a thick and creamy mango pulp.

Step 3: Now take 700 ml of milk into a non stick pan and switch on the stove. After few minutes when you think that your milk is lukewarm in temperature then separate 1 cup of milk into a bowl. Boil rest of the milk on low flame.

Step 4: At this point add 50 gram of custard powder into the lukewarm milk and mix them very well. It has its own yellowish color, I have not added any extra color into it.

Step 5: After 30 minutes of boiling milk, add 1/4 cup of sugar or powdered sugar into the milk. Mix the sugar with a spatula and boil them for another 5 minutes. During this period keep stirring.

Step 6: It’s time to add the mango pulp into the milk and mix them very well. Keep stirring, otherwise custard might stick to the bottom of the pan.

Step 7: Cook the mango custard for 5 minutes on low flame. At this time you can add your favorite crushed dry fruits into it.

Step 8: After 5 minutes switch off the stove and wait for 5 minutes for cooling down. Then put the custard into small size glass bowls.

Step 9: Now put the bowls inside refrigerator for 1 hour to set the custard. And that’s it, our mango custard is ready to serve. Decorate them by using cashew, raisin and mango cuts.
