How to make Marble Cookies
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together 1/4 cup of salted butter and 3 tbsp of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add 2 tsp of milk powder, 1 tbsp of cocoa powder, and mix well. Sift in 1 cup of maida (all-purpose flour) and 1/4 tsp of baking soda. Mix until the dough comes together.
4. To prevent the dough from dryness, add 1-2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce to give it a chocolatey flavor and to help it come together.
5. In a separate mixing bowl, cream together 1/4 cup of salted butter and 3 tbsp of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
6. Add 2 tsp of milk powder and 1/4 tsp of baking soda and mix well. Stir in 1 tsp of vanilla essence. If the dough is too dry, add a little milk to make it pliable.
7. Separately roll out the chocolate and vanilla dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. You can roll them into ropes and twist them for a more pronounced marbling pattern.
8. Use a 2 separate size of heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes from both the chocolate and vanilla cookie sheet.
9. Cut each cookie in half using an alternate size of heart-shaped cookie cutter. Now place both flavoured cookie halves next to each other and press them slightly to seal them.
10. Place the heart-shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-17 minutes or until the edges of the cookies turn slightly golden.
12. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
13. Once the cookies have cooled, you can optionally drizzle them with more chocolate sauce for extra flavor and decoration.
Enjoy your homemade marble heart-shaped cookies! They make a delightful treat for any occasion or as a heartfelt gift.
