How to make Nutella Flower Bread
1. In a small bowl, combine lukewarm water, dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes to activate the yeast. You’ll know it’s ready when it becomes frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of maida (all-purpose flour), 2 tablespoons of sugar, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Pour the activated yeast water (from step 1) into the dry ingredients.
3. Mix everything together to form a dough. Now add oil or butter and knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and no longer sticky.
4. Place the dough back into the mixing bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
5. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down to release the air. Then, cut it into 3 equal pieces and roll each of them into round shape.
6. Spread Nutella evenly over the entire surface of one rolled dough. Carefully place another rolled one on top and do for the rest one.
7. To shape it flower, make a center and make 16 cuts around it Using a sharp knife. Twist the two halves together to form a braided or twisted bread. Make sure to keep the cut sides facing up so the Nutella layer is visible.
8. Carefully transfer the twisted dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a greased baking dish. Leave it for 30 more minutes.
9. While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
11. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
