Oatmeal is a quick and easy to make breakfast dish. It can be prepared with in 15 minutes.

I prefer this breakfast whenever I have less time to do it. I take milk , oats, dry fruits and that’s it. My breakfast is ready for the day.

I used to cook oats fully in milk and for better taste, serve it with fruits and nuts.

Here I have chosen instant oats which takes less time to cook.

Oatmeal is also an one pot meal. One pot meals are that meals which have not required more then one pot to prepare it.

INGREDIENTS

1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml ; 1teaspoon – 5ml;

  • Instant oats – 2/3 cup
  • Roasted walnuts – 1/4 cup
  • Cashew – 1/4 cup
  • Raisin – 1/4 cup
  • Milk – 1+1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 1+1/2 tbsp.
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp

Notes

1. I prefer instant oats for my breakfast recipe. It takes less time to cook and obviously a healthy diet. 
 
2. Raw milk is also optional. Instead of raw milk you can replace it with milk powder. In that case take 2 cup of lukewarm water and 1/4 cup of milk powder. Mix them and use for making the rest of the recipe. 
 
3. Oats is a very healthy ingredients for our daily diet. To include it in your daily diet, use it in breakfast, cookies, cakes, snacks etc.
 
4. One more oats recipe you will find at Recipeonplate. and that is masala oats. Some people like to start their morning with little spicy food and coffee. 
 
5. Although I have used lots of dry fruits to make it more tasty and nutritious. Yet you could decrease the amount of the dry fruits. Even you can add more😉.
 
6. Choose some fresh fruits to add the freshness to your breakfast. To me breakfast should be healthy, fresh and nutritious. Which give you a energetic kick to start your day.
 
7. Berries are some of the popular toppings you can use on your oatmeal. Basically it is totally on your taste preferences and availability.

How to make Oatmeal

Step 1: Firstly we need to boil the milk. So add 1+1/2 cup of milk into a cookware. And let it be boiled.

Step 2: When It starts boiling add the instant oats into it. Mix them and cook for 5 minutes on low flame. During this cooking time, keep stirring the oats. Otherwise it can stick to the bottom.

Step 3: At this point add roasted and crushed walnuts, raisin and 1+1/2 tbsp. of sugar into it. And add my secret ingredient – 1/4 tsp of salt into it.

Step 4: Mix them very well and cook for another 1 minutes. You are done , Oatmeal is ready to eat.

Step 5: I have added some dates, cashew and sliced banana pieces on top of the serving plates. Enjoy the breakfast.

    1. I have seen multiple masala oats. Never seen readymade oatmeal. You can try Muesli as well. That’s kind of similar.
