Paneer Cutlets

Paneer cutlets are a popular vegetarian snack in Indian cuisine. These delicious cutlets are made from paneer, which is a type of Indian cottage cheese.

Ingredients

1cup-240ml; 1tablespoon – 15ml; 1teaspoon – 5ml;

For the cutlets:

– Paneer (shredded) – 100 gm

– Potatoes (boiled and shredded) – ½ cup

– Green chilli (chopped) – 1 piece

– Onion (finely chopped) – 3 tbsp

– Ginger (finely chopped) – 1 tsp

– Chaat masala – ½ tsp

– Chilli flakes – ½ tsp

– Cumin (freshly crushed) – 1 tsp

– Cashew nuts (chopped) – 1+½ tbsp

– Raisins (chopped) – 1 tbsp

– Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp

– Cornstarch – 3 tsp

Maida and water mixture:

– Maida (all-purpose flour) – 3 tsp

– Water – ¼ cup

To coat the cutlets:

– Breadcrumbs – ½ cup

For deep frying:

– Sufficient oil


How to make Paneer Cutlets

1. In a large mixing bowl, shred the paneer and boiled potatoes using the medium to small shredder.

2. Now combine chopped green chilli, finely chopped onions, ginger, chaat masala, chilli flakes, freshly crushed cumin, chopped cashew nuts, chopped raisins, chopped coriander leaves, and cornstarch.

3. Mix all the ingredients well until you get a uniform mixture.

4. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a flat, round cutlet. Here I have given them heart shape, you can choose any shape you like.

5. In a separate bowl, mix maida (all-purpose flour) with water to create a smooth paste.

6. Dip each cutlet into the maida mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly.

7. Roll the cutlets in breadcrumbs, making sure they are fully coated.

8. In a deep pan, heat sufficient oil for deep frying.

9. Carefully place the coated cutlets into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown on both sides.

10. Once the cutlets are golden and crispy, remove them from the oil and place them on a kitchen paper towel to absorb excess oil.

11. Serve the paneer cutlets hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
